If you're entering the 2011 ATOM Awards, make sure you tick everything off this checklist!
1. Submit your entry / entries online using the online entry form. Please note - no manual entries will be accepted this year.
2. Follow the instructions on the online entry form to submit your production in multiple award listings and/or to enter a number of different productions.
3. Print out your order receipt, which will contain all information on your entry, including your invoice number.
4. Send the following to the ATOM Awards via post PO Box 163 Oakleigh South, Vic 3167 OR via courier to 27 / 23 - 25 Bunney Road, Oakleigh South, Vic 3167 within 5 working days of your entry submission:
- Your DVD containing your entry footage.
Your footage MUST also be clearly labeled with your invoice number and have an attached copy of your order receipt.
Please double check your media and instructions of use before sending to ATOM. If we cannot view your production, we will be unable to judge your submission.
Note: Where a production is being accessed as part of an online presentation, entries must supply installation instructions, passwords and all system and hardware requirements.
- Stamped, Self-Addressed Envelope.
If you want to have your entry returned to you at the close of the awards, please provide packaging and pre-paid postage.
Australia Post’s Express Post Satchels and Prepaid Parcel Satchels are the preferred options (please ensure correct weight allocation is purchased in order that your entry is returned without additional cost to you).
If correct postage is not provided, your entry will not be returned.
- Copyright clearance.
Ensure that you have obtained the necessary copyright clearance for any music used that has copyright. For information about how to obtain copyright clearance, visit www.atomawards.org/copyright.Note: Any productions that use music or other materials that are covered by copyrigth, but for which copyright clearance has not been obtained will not be eligible to become a finalist.
- Proof that you are a student - if you are entering a student category.
If you are student and are entering into one of the student categories, please provide proof of student ID or health care card. If you have applied for concession rates, you must enclose a photocopy of your student ID or Healthcare Card with your awards submission.
Please note: If this information is not provided, you will be billed for the full amount.
NOTE:
Your entry WILL NOT be judged until the relevant fees have been paid.
Further, ATOM will NOT accept entry footage that is sent via email, FTP or any other downloadable format. If you can't get your footage to ATOM via post or courier delivery, your entry will not be processed.
IF YOU ARE SELECTED AS A 2011 ATOM AWARDS FINALIST…
If you are selected as a 2011 ATOM Awards finalist, you will need to provide 2 x 20 second clips OR a master tape with listed 'in and out' points by NO LATER THAN Friday 19 August, 2011, according to the specifications below:
FOOTAGE:
Accepted formats (ie the dimensions and codec that the video is in)
- SD 4:3 or 16:9
- HD H264 MP4
- HDV
- Quicktime
- .AVI
- .WMV
- MPEG
- DVD Video with NO Encyption
Accepted media (the physical device the information is on, ie disc, tape)
** Please make sure that EVERY entry has the format and aspect ratio written on the media, ie widescreen or normal, as well as reference to file type.
If you are a finalist in more than one production, you must submit DIFFERENT clips to accompany each finalist listing, ie if you are a finalist in 2 categories, we ask for 4 x 20 second clips (2 allocated for each production). This is to ensure that the same clips are not shown repeatedly at the ATOM Awards Night.
Note: if you do not submit different clips for each category in which you are a finalist, your clip will only be shown once and on other occassions during the awards night you will simply be announced by the MC as a finalist in that category.
STILLS:
A separate disc, containing no more than 5 still images should be submitted with your finalist footage. Your disc must also be clearly labelled with your production details and entrant name.
Each still MUST be titled with the name of the production and anyh other relevant reference.
Only the following formats will be accepted:
Please DO NOT zip the stills files on the disc, provide as individually accessible images only.
If your entry uses online footage (ie website), then it is preferable that you provide finalist footage as a motion capture.
You will receive more instructions and checklists if you are selected as a 2011 ATOM Awards Finalist, however, this information has been included above for your general reference in order that you know what footage you may need to prepare.
